Once upon a time, I was 15 and cringing over my old fanfiction, but then ten years later I obtained my MFA after defending my thesis on fanfiction; and so, here I am.
PS: Call me Jay. I'm your friendly neighborhood Spiderman. I'm down to chat or collab or whatever, so please don't be shy!
Avenged Sevenfold are mid tour when their support band pulls out of a show. The venue arranges for a local band, Chemical Conspiracy, to take the support slot and that’s when The Rev meets his match, Beatrice Moore.
Beatrice is fun-loving and irresistible, but she enjoys the rock and roll lifestyle a little too much. Will Jimmy follow her down the dark path she's walking?
*Strong drug use references throughout*
I just really dig this story and I can't wait to see where Beatrice goes from here.
Thank you so much! I might stop torturing her soon 😅
Hey, welcome back! Excited to jump back into this : ) I'll be back with a more in-depth review once I read your updates!
Aww, thanks so much! I really appreciate the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to catching up with yours too :)
This latest addition has such a sad and sweet tone to it. I loved the ending of this chapter, but it pull my heartstrings in a variety (and all the best) of ways.
Excited to read more!
As Avenged Sevenfold gets into recording their newest album, tempers flare as the bandmates' lives begin to clash. With a crew set to document the recording process and a fresh female face hanging around, can Brian find his way out of the darkness that's consumed him? Can Jimmy keep a hold on his demons? Will Matt find his own way? Can the band survive their darkest moments together?
Ahhh, so we're just gonna punch me right in the feels with Matt today : (
I love how you write Matt and the vulnerability showcased is really nice. This was a great emotional edition.
Part 3 of the As Paths Cross series
Zacky Vengeance is a ladies man, but suddenly finds himself drawn to one woman in particular. He's never had a problem getting what he wants before, but now he's met with the challenge of changing his ways. If he doesn't want to sink, he's got to learn to swim...
that sibling spat tho
LOL, gotta love it! I know I certainly did : )
Poor Zach and his unicorn chasing. I can't wait to see how "tonight is the night" will turn out for him.
Thank you so much for reading! :)
Perhaps our poor Zacky will finally get a phone number at the least, haha!
River Atkins is a seventeen year old runaway who ends up in Huntington Beach. She chose HB because she researched the farthest she could go from New York that was deemed safe. She decides to finish her education so she can grow up to be someone who can inspire others in trouble. She changes her name to River Rhoades and tries to stay under the radar. Will she be able to stay hidden forever or will she be forced back to the streets of New York City?
This was a fun read! Can't believe it's over, but congrats on its completion!
Thank-you so much! I have a sequel in mind but I'm not sure. Would you be interested in a sequel?
Jane and Zack have been roaming the streets of Orange County together since they were kids. It's no secret among family and friends about how they feel for each other, but it seems the universe has other plans in mind.
How can two people who are clearly meant to be with each other not figure out a way to do so?
I'm really curious to see where this piece goes :)
Okay, not gonna lie - I'm so hype to see this. I read the original and loved it, so I cannot wait to read more of this!
Oh, thank you! It's going to be very different from the original, so...Be prepared haha
"There was panicking to do. There was anxiety to be had."
Same Blair. Same.
I love these two little lines - so much characterization. I really love how clear Blair's voice is. I wish I could write in the first-person just as well!
I can't wait for the next update. I am buckled in for whatever this revision brings : )
Thank you! I appreciate the love (and the love for Blair)!! It's awesome to know you're enjoying it! This rework is going to be hella different, so get prepared ;)
“Dear Diary, today a stranger at a party was a total dick to me,” he said with a smirk.
I'm so happy this line remained in the revision. Your characterization of Brian is just perfect - as is the characterization for the rest of your characters. This whole scene is the perfect introduction between these two.
Side note, since I failed to mention it before - fuckin' TYLER.
LOL That line made me laugh the first time I wrote it and when I was approaching this shit again...There was no way it wasn't making the cut. I'm super glad you (not only remembered it) but loved it.
FUCKIN' TYLER INDEED. Just wait.
First of all, I would like to update my previous comment of "FUCKIN' TYLER" to "FUCK TYLER." Boy, did I want to punch him on Blair's behalf in the ninth chapter. I really just need someone to punch him, just once - twice, maybe a few times, pending the context, haha.
But, ahhhhhh, Jimmy! I've always admired your characterization of the guys, but your characterization of Jimmy speaks to me. I love it so! Blimmy is starting a good foundation right now and I love seeing their relationship development.
I can't wait for the next chapter : )
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm careful as fuck with the way I write Jimmy, so I'm really glad you dig it. I'm also really glad you love Blimmy! It's always nice to hear them getting some love.
Tyler, though, is a piece of fucking shit haha I'd totally let you hit him. Maybe someone will. Who knows. ;)
I've been so bad at keeping up with my reviews, but boy did I love Blair just popping the fuck off. I still want her to hit Tyler. If not her, I volunteer as tribute; but boy, the verbal exchange was great, but I just want one broken nose attached to Tyler's face, that's all.
Also, I'm so glad we're seeing the foundation of the Blair and Justin friendship. I love a good "enemies to friends" story, so I'm excited to see how this develops from here on out.
The ending for the fifteenth chapter was lovely. I like the teasings we're getting of solo career Blair : )
Can't wait for more!
This chapter just makes me want a joint Jimmy-Blair art gallery venture or collection terribly!
I was excited to read this update. I love how Blair confided in Jimmy about the rest of Haven jumping on her and how he comforted her. His use of humor to lead into the conversation before genuinely saying she deserved a break — and I refer only to Blair because the rest of them can kick rocks. Well, outside of Justin (from what I remember on the first version of this story and the olive branch moment)...and Tyler, but that's because I will only be satisfied with either a KO hit to his ego and face, LOL.
I also really love how Jimmy after this little cutesy moment just goes right back into the humor. Personally, I take that as him keeping his own guard up. It works so well in this scene between them because she's letting her guard down around him in the teeniest, tiniest way Blair Peterson can as she spends time with him and he's sorta doing the opposite — she opens up, he goes right for the Jimmy humor we all know and love.
AND THOSE ENDING LINES HERE.
I'm here for this whole thing. I love it. I look forward to the next update!
We all know Johnny's Saloon, right? Then you surely know DJ, the Berry brother's little sister, or at least Dice. No? Well they're just two of the most badass bartenders you'll ever meet. How could things possibly go wrong?
Oooo, I can't wait to see where this goes! I'm already loving the dynamic between DJ and Dice.
Also, Malcolm? He can go, like...yesterday, haha.
Excited for more! : )
Thank you! Dice and DJ have a very interesting and very deep relationship. I love writing the two of them! I will have another update soon!
Poor Gates - he was so close to the right name! So close!
I was finally able to catch up on my fanfic reading and all I have to say is - poor DJ! She's a bundle of nerves and I'm glad she's got Dice looking out for her.
Malcolm is lucky to be alive, lets be honest. I started watching Scandal the other day and me thinks Dice would be like Olivia Pope to make him disappear. He's the worst!
I can't wait to see what comes next for DJ (as well as her and Gates) next! : )
I love the Scandal reference! Who knows... maybe Dice will do exactly that. ;) Unfortunately we have not seen the end of him. He will show his ugly face again here soon.
As for DJ and Brian, they also have some more fun surprises coming their way! I hope you enjoy the new chapter too. ;) Thank you for your kind words!
"Because I used to believe in justice, a place where there is better judgement..."
A plague has descended upon Huntington Beach. A dormant serial killer has reawoken after five years of absence, and it's down to a specialied unit of agents to track him down, alongside the help of a rather bitter detective.
The problem is, their history hasn't been exactly smooth. A brutal murder, a botched investigation, and accusations of straight-up sabotage had torn the group in two, leaving one to work solo while the rest carried on with life.
Finally though, their paths cross. But if they thought the past was problematic, they were all in for a rude awakening. There's bigger fish to fry.
I'm about to reread this first chapter a second time because I'm hype as all hell'
I love a good crime mystery : )
I can't wait to see where this goes! The interactions between the characters thus far has me fascinated.
I'm really intrigued by the setting and descriptions here. I can't wait for more because what's been laid out here just seems so interesting to me : )
I've got to catch up on this, but I think a holiday-themed story is super neat and original : ) Can't wait to continue reading to see what's in store!
I deleted my previous review due to a typo that was bothering me. Sometimes I get so excited about stuff, my proof-reading skills take a hit, haha!
Anyways, I'm really digging this story. I get a lot of Misery vibes from it, so I can't wait to see how the characters and plot develop.
